Saturday Afternoon Car Accident in Ventura Tragically Ends in Death of Woman, Others Critically Injured
A Saturday afternoon crash in Ventura ended in one fatality, and another person being critically injured. According to local news reports, the accident occurred on Saturday, February 15, and involved two vehicles. Investigators believe that a silver Lexus SUV was traveling eastbound on Loma Vista Road when it approached the intersection of Loma Vista Road and Victoria Avenue. At the same time, a GMC truck is believed to have entered the intersection when the Lexus SUV “clipped the pickup,” causing it to roll over. The impact of the collision sent the Lexus SUV into a residential driveway, which was located at Loma Vista Road and Madera Avenue. There were two occupants inside the Lexus SUV, and they were reported to be trapped inside of the vehicle and were seriously injured.
One of the occupants of the SUV “appeared to have suffered potentially life-threatening injuries,” according to Ventura Police Department Commander Ryan Weeks. A female occupant of the Lexus SUV was “pulled from the SUV” and unfortunately later died at the hospital. The other occupant of the Lexus SUV was also taken to the hospital because of critical injuries sustained in the car crash. The two occupants of the truck were not seriously injured; however, they also went to the hospital for evaluation. According to the most recent update, “The police department’s traffic unit is investigating.”
