According to local news reports, County Supervisors voted “yes” to a measure that will make safety improvements at four intersections and 17 other locations to enhance pedestrian safety in San Diego. The four intersections that will receive safety improvements are in the communities of La Presa, Spring Valley, and Fallbrook.
Importantly, these intersections saw a total of 12 reported automobile collisions that involved pedestrians from the years 2015 to 2019. The 17 other locations where pedestrian safety improvements will be made, include Austin Drive and Sweetwater Boulevard, Loma Lane and Sweetwater Springs Boulevard, Elkelton Boulevard and Paradise Valley Road, Jamacha Road and Leland Street, Jamacha Road and Kempton Street, and other locations throughout San Diego County in the unincorporated communities of Spring Valley, La Presa, Bonita, Valley Center, Ramona, Fallbrook, Jamul, and El Cajon.
