The driver of the southbound driving car was 21-year-old Oxnard man, Evan John Bouchard, who was driving a Volkswagen Jetta. Unfortunately, before officers could locate Mr. Bouchard, he collided with a southbound-heading Nissan Versa, crashing into it head-on. The accident ultimately occurred North of Seaward Avenue.

The victims of the accident were identified as a 52-year-old man and 55-year-old woman from Santa Barbara. Both victims of the fatal drunk driving car accident were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Mr. Bouchard was hospitalized for minor injuries that he sustained because of the crash, and he was charged with driving under the influence causing bodily injury and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
