California Man Dead, 11-Month-Old Baby Injured in Car Accident Near Vernalis
The terrible news of the death of a young California man and the hospitalization of an 11-month-old baby hit headlines last month in the wake of horrific car accident. According to local news reports, at approximately 1:00 p.m. on September 21, California Highway Patrol responded to an accident on Highway 132 by River Road in Vernalis, CA. The accident involved five vehicles, and six individuals. After crossing the yellow line and sideswiping the other vehicle, the 26-year-old driver hit another car head-on. The driver of the car that the 26-year-old driver hit head-on slammed on the brakes and was then rear-ended. At the time of the news report, the victims had not yet been identified to the public, and it was still unclear as to whether drugs or alcohol played a part in the accident.
As a result of the accident, California Highway Patrol urges parents in California to place their children in rear-facing car seats, as required by law.
